Sometimes life can be going along just fine.

You’re working. You’re laughing. You’re making plans. You’re creating things. You’re doing all the things you’re supposed to be doing.

And then one day you look around and something just feels…different.

The people feel different.
The places feel different.
The energy around you feels different.

Nothing necessarily happened. There wasn’t some big moment that changed everything.

It just suddenly feels like your life doesn’t quite compute the way it did before.

And there’s this strange frozen feeling.

Like you’re standing somewhere between who you used to be and whoever you’re becoming next.

52 is wild.

There are days when I feel more confident in myself than I ever have. I know myself better. I care a whole lot less about things that used to consume me. I’m willing to go places alone, try new things, create things, embarrass myself, start over and figure things out as I go.

And then there are days when I look around and think…

Where exactly am I right now?

Because this age has its ups and downs.

People change. Friendships change. Priorities change. Places that once felt comfortable don’t always feel the same anymore. Things I once thought I wanted don’t always fit the person I am now.

And sometimes I don’t know whether I’m supposed to hold on, let go, move forward or just stand still for a minute and figure out what the hell I’m feeling.

Maybe that’s the frozen part.

Maybe sometimes we aren’t stuck at all.

Maybe we’re simply standing in that uncomfortable little space between what was and what comes next.

I don’t have some beautiful inspirational ending for this one.

I’m still figuring it out.

But maybe that’s part of being 52 too.

Some days I know exactly who I am and where I’m going.

Other days I’m standing in the middle of my own life looking around thinking…

Well. This is wild.

And somehow, I think I’m learning to be okay with that too. ❤️
