Embracing Change at 50: My Journey from Behind the Scenes to Center Stage

Have you ever found yourself feeling insignificant in a room full of powerful, accomplished women? I have. At 50, I am finally stepping into a space of significance and moving to the front of the scenes.

For most of my life, I preferred to be the behind-the-scenes person—the one who gathered all the information, did the research, and handed it over to someone else to present. This new role, where I am marketing myself and standing at the forefront, is completely different. I have to unbrand my old self and rebrand myself as someone comfortable with both change and attention.

There are times when I feel like my accomplishments in the business world don’t add up to much. I spent 28 years of my life as a working mom, focusing on my family and not on my professional growth. But now, with my children grown, it’s time for me to make my way.

How do I do it? Many days, I am terrified. What am I thinking? The scared little girl with no confidence still peeks through. Pushing out of my comfort zone takes a lot of effort. Yet, this is the journey I must take.

This blog will document my path as I navigate this significant change in my life. I hope it inspires others to embrace their own transformations, no matter how daunting they may seem.
